Anthropic just doubled usage limits on Claude for anyone outside peak hours, running now through March 27, 2026.
The deal is simple: between 2 PM and 8 AM Eastern (or 11 AM to 5 AM Pacific), you get 2x your normal usage across Claude's web app, desktop, mobile, Claude Code, and the new Excel and PowerPoint integrations. During peak hours (8 AM to 2 PM ET), nothing changes. Free, Pro, Max, and Team plans all qualify automatically. Enterprise plans are excluded.
A few details worth knowing: the bonus usage doesn't count against your weekly limits, so this is genuinely additive. You don't need to opt in or flip any setting. And it doesn't stack with other promotions.
The timing is smart. Anthropic is calling this a "spring break" promotion, but the subtext is clear: they want more people building habits around Claude during hours when their infrastructure has spare capacity. It's the same playbook utility companies use with off-peak electricity rates. Anthropic gets better GPU utilization, users get more headroom for longer conversations and bigger Claude Code sessions.
For heavy Claude Code users especially, this is a practical win. Code generation sessions burn through limits fast, and doubling capacity during evening and weekend hours is when a lot of independent developers and freelancers do their real work anyway. If you've been rationing your Pro plan usage, shift your heavy sessions to after 2 PM Eastern for the next two weeks.
Limits return to normal after March 27.
