Your AI coding agent can now cold-email prospects, scrape competitor pricing pages, and generate SEO content - if you plug in the right skills.
Athina AI released an open-source library of 125 go-to-market (GTM) skills designed for AI coding agents like Claude Code, OpenAI's Codex, and Cursor. The idea: instead of building one-off scripts for sales and marketing automation, you install a skill pack and let the agent handle it.
What the Skills Actually Do
The library covers five broad areas:
- Lead generation - Pull potential customers from conference speaker lists, LinkedIn activity, and job boards based on your ideal customer profile
- Outreach - Generate personalized cold email sequences from those leads
- Competitive intelligence - Monitor competitor blogs, pricing pages, and job postings for signals (new hires in certain roles often telegraph product direction)
- Programmatic SEO - Take a keyword list and spin up landing pages at volume
- AI brand monitoring - Track where and how your brand shows up in answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude
That last one is increasingly relevant. As more people search via AI chatbots instead of Google, knowing whether those models recommend your product (and what they say about it) matters for any marketing team.
Practical Considerations
The skills are modular, so you can install only the ones you need. They follow the emerging pattern of "skills" or "tools" that extend what an AI agent can do beyond writing code - essentially turning your coding agent into a general-purpose business automation layer.
The obvious question: how reliable are these at scale? Automated lead scraping and cold email generation sit in a gray area between efficiency and spam. The quality of output will depend heavily on how well you configure your ideal customer profile and review what the agent produces before hitting send.
For small teams running lean GTM operations, this is the kind of toolkit that could replace a handful of SaaS subscriptions. The code is on GitHub under an open-source license, so you can audit exactly what each skill does before pointing it at your customer pipeline.
