Perplexity Moved Its Delete History Option - Users Can't Find It

What happened to the delete option in Perplexity's Library? Users trying to clear their search history are finding that the three-dot menu that used to appear next to each thread - the one containing the Delete option - is no longer where it was.

The previous flow was straightforward: go to perplexity.ai/library, find the thread you wanted removed, click the three-dot menu, select Delete. That path no longer works as of early May 2026. Perplexity appears to have updated the Library interface without a public announcement or updated documentation to match.

This is more than a typical button shuffle. Perplexity stores every search thread you run by default, with no automatic expiry. The delete option wasn't a housekeeping convenience - it was the primary way users controlled what the platform retains about them. If you use Perplexity regularly for sensitive research or work queries, losing straightforward access to deletion is a genuine privacy concern.

For now, your best option is to check your account settings page for a data management or privacy section. Perplexity has historically offered some deletion controls there. The company had not commented on the interface change as of May 11, 2026.
